Social action arms of the Catholic Church appealed to the faithful to pray and extend assistance to those affected by the eruptions of Mt. Mayon in Albay province.

In a statement, Caritas Manila said the most needed items were sleeping mats, mosquito nets, blankets, face masks, hygiene kits, firewood, food, water, toilets and communal kitchens.

In a separate appeal, Legazpi Bishop Joel Baylon said food and warm clothing for the evacuees were most welcome.
