About 500 passengers of a northbound Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) train were offloaded on Tuesday in Quezon City due to a system problem.

An MRT-3 report showed that the train dropped off the commuters at the northbound portion of Santolan-Annapolis station after it encountered a “braking system error” at 11:53 a.m.

The service disruption was caused by “defective electrical and braking sub-components” like relay, cable, and brake actuator, the report said.

The affected passengers got on a different train which arrived four minutes after. /je
