Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) rounded up on Tuesday a family of suspected illegal drugs pushers and users in a buy-bust operation.

The QCPD Station 7 said they arrested suspect Elvira Manansala, along with her two children – Marlon, 20, and Marjorie Elpa, 23; and seized 26 sachets of marijuana with a street value of P26,000, and eight sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalias from their house located on Zambales Street, Barangay San Martin de Porres, Quezon City.

Based on the report of Radyo Inquirer 990 AM, Manansala’s house was allegedly known in the neighborhood as an illegal drug den.

QCPD District Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said Manansala has been included in the barangay’s drug list.

According to Eleazar, it was Manansala’s children who handed the drugs to police agents during the buy-bust.

Manansala denied being an illegal drug peddler. She also denied that her house was being used as an illegal drug den.

She, however, admitted that she uses illegal drugs and then pleaded to authorities not to arrest her children.

Police said Manansala has a record of arrest over drug possession in 2011.

All three suspects are currently detained pending the filing of a case against them for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. With reports from Justinne Punsalang/Radyo Inquirer
