More than 600 passengers of a south-bound MRT-3 train were unloaded on Monday evening in Quezon City due to a system problem.

An MRT-3 report showed that the train dropped off 650 commuters at the southbound portion of Araneta Center-Cubao station after it encountered a “signaling error” at 7:45 p.m. .

The service disruption was caused by “worn out ATP sub-components” like ATP board and ATP sensor, the report said.

ATP stands for “automatic train protection.”

Affected passengers were loaded on a different train which arrived five minutes after.
