BAGUIO CITY — A Victory Liner bus bound for this city on Monday afternoon rammed an electric post on Marcos Highway in Benguet province, killing its conductor and a passenger, and injuring 19 others, according to the Tuba Municipal Police Station said.
Bus conductor Joseph Ryan Mesana and Melba Suarez were killed instantly when the bus crashed into the post on the national highway in Tuba town in Benguet at about 1:30 p.m., Chief Insp. James Acod, Tuba police chief, said.
The bus driver, Maximo Alday Jr., is under police custody and faces charges of double homicide and multiple physical injuries, Acod said.
