CEBU CITY—The Sinulog Grand Parade is expected to end at least two hours later than earlier projected.

Councilor Dave Tumulak said they anticipated that the last contingent – Tribu Katbalaugan-Catbalogan City, Samar — would arrive about 6 p.m. since they were still at the starting point in New Imus Road around 3 p.m.

As a result, the Sinulog finale would end between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., instead of the initial plan of 4:30 p.m.

The delay was caused by the downpour and some technical difficulties especially during the opening Mass at 8 a.m.

The large crowd along the General Maxilom Avenue and a portion of Osmeña Boulevard took up the space where the contingents could perform.

Tumulak said they had to send policemen in the area to control the crowd and allow the contingents to perform and progress to the Cebu City Sports Center for their final presentation. /je
