Children administered with the vaccine Dengvaxia may be brought for treatment to Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) if these kids are showing symptoms of dengue, according to Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Rueda-Acosta on Friday.

She said OsMun had set up a Dengvaxia ward to accept and treat patients who exhibit symptoms of dengue.

“’Pag meron nang sintomas ang anak nyo, nagsusuka, nahihilo, masakit ulo, masakit tiyan, nagtatae, at may sign na ng rashes, dalhin nyo agad sa Ospital ng Muntinlupa,” Acosta said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer. (If your child shows symptoms—vomiting, nauseous, headache, stomach ache, diarrhea, and rashes, bring them immediately to Ospital ng Muntinlupa.)

OsMun Director Dr. Edwin Dimatatac told INQUIRER.net in a text message that since the hospital established the ward on Monday, 62 patients have sought treatment and consultation. Fifty seven of them were outpatients who underwent consultation, and five were admitted. Four of these were discharged and one was admitted as of posting time.

Dimatatac said all patients were vaccinated with Dengvaxia. The vaccine is the subject of a joint hearing of the Senate blue ribbon, health, and finance committees.

Critics alleged that the vaccine was hastily procured in December 2015 using government savings.
