LUCENA CITY—At least 27 newly trained members of a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team armed with modern communication and mobility hardware were added to Quezon province’s police force.
Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police chief, said the first SWAT team from the Quezon police provincial office were fresh from 45 days of rigid training and would serve as the “tip of the spear” in the fight against criminality in the province.
During the SWAT graduation held Thursday, Armamento presented the equipment donated by Gov. David Suarez that included a 16-footer SWAT van, motorcycles, sniper rifles, ballistic vests, and laptop among many others.
“This will not be just a display but a tool to combat against all forms of criminality,” Armamento said.
The new SWAT members will be deployed in different parts of the province.
