The Quezon City Police District seized around P150,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from five suspects in an antidrug operation in Payatas on Wednesday night.
The QCPD identified the suspects as Jeffrey Buenconsejo, 28; Marife Punzalan, 27; Mark Anthony Jayme, 30; Edgar Pelayo, 36 and Angel Trinidad, 19.
Except for Buenconsejo who lived in Rodriguez, Rizal province, the rest were residents of the city.
A report to Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, district director, said members of QCPD’s Batasan station first targeted Punzalan and Trinidad in a buy-bust operation on Pampanga Street.
Buenconsejo, Jayme and Pelayo, meanwhile, served as drug runners for the two women, according to Supt. Rossel Cejas, Batasan station commander.
The police located these three other suspects in the area for “verification” and found them in possesson of shabu, the report said.
The group yielded a total of 11 sachets of the illegal drug. —JHESSET O. ENANO
