A Filipino-Pakistani man was arrested for uploading on social media nude photos of a woman whom he was having an affair with, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

In a statement on Thursday, NBI Director Dante Gierran said Abdul Razaq Bukhari was arrested by the NBI Cybercrime Division agents in an entrapment operation in Quezon City.

Gierran said the complainant sought the help of the NBI after Bukhari uploaded her nude photos on the internet. The suspect was a resident of San Mateo, Rizal and had worked in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The complainant said she came to know Bukhari through social media chatting on Facebook Messenger, Gierran said, adding that their connection later bloomed into a long distance relationship.

The NBI director said in the course of her relationship with the suspect, there were incidents that the complainant showed her private parts to Bukhari on Messenger “out of love.”

“Every time they engaged in video calling, subject (Bukhari) was demanding complainant to show her private parts, which the latter did out of love for the subject, without realizing the possible consequences,” Gierran said.

However, Gierran said the relationship took a dark turn after the complainant learned that Bukhari was married to another Filipina, so she decided to end the affair.

But Bukhari did not accept it, Gierran said, as he tried to convince the complainant to come back to him. The suspect became disappointed upon learning that the complainant had found a new boyfriend, the NBI Director said.

Bukhari then started blackmailing the complainant that he would send her nude photos to her friends if she would not go back to him and break up with her new boyfriend, Gierran said.

“Complainant ignored the threat until subject (Bukhari), out of anger, sent the photos to her new boyfriend and workmates,” Gierran said.

“(Bukhari) again tried to talk with the complainant, requesting for a meet up and sex in exchange of the deletion of all the complainant’s nude photos. At this point, complainant sought the help of NBI,” he said.

NBI Cybercrime Division agents arrested Bukhari along Timog Avenue in Quezon City on Tuesday evening, January 16, Gierran said.

The suspect was charged with criminal charges for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 (RA 9262), the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175), and the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 (RA 9995). /jpv
