According to the Department of Health, Metro Manila accounted for 19.2 percent or 478 of the 2,495 leptospirosis cases reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to Dec. 2, 2017.
The region had the highest number of cases during the period, followed by Western Visayas with 19 percent or 474 cases, and Ilocos Region with 14.8 percent or 369 cases. —Marielle Medina
