Cebu Pacific cancels flights due to Tacloban airport closure

Cebu Pacific on Wednesday announced the cancellation of its Tacloban-bound flights from Manila and Cebu due to the temporary closure of Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport.

In an advisory, the airline announced that it postponed 14 flights supposedly scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 18, due to ongoing repairs at the runway of Tacloban airport.

The airline said affected passengers may reroute to the nearest alternate airports, rebook at a later travel date within 30 days free of charge, or get a full refund or place the cost of the ticket in a travel fund for future use.

The airport was temporarily closed by authorities due to emergency repairs in the airport’s runway, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced on Wednesday.
