Vice President Leni Robredo’s net trust rating surged to “very good” in the Social Weather Stations (SWS) Fourth Quarter 2017 survey that was released on Tuesday.
The latest survey put Robredo’s net trust rating at 52 percent – a 16-point increase from her 36 percent or “good” net trust rating in the SWS September 2017 audit.
According to the SWS, 66 percent of Filipinos registered “much trust” in the Vice President, and only 14 percent of the respondents said they have “little trust” in her.
Some 20 percent of the respondents, meanwhile, said they were “undecided” on Robredo.
Biggest gain in Mindanao
The SWS said that Robredo’s biggest gain was in Mindanao as her net trust rating in the region increased by 26 points, from 24 percent in September 2017 to 50 percent in December 2017.
The Vice President also enjoyed gains in Luzon and Visayas with her ratings going up by 16 points in both regions, posting “very good” net trust ratings of 64 percent in Visayas and 56 percent in Luzon, the survey firm added.
Robredo’s net trust rating, however, stayed “moderate” at 27 percent in Metro Manila despite a five-point increase from her rating in the September 2017 survey.
Robredo also posted a “very good” net trust rating in rural areas at 60 percent, a 20-point increase from her 40 percent rating in the September 2017 survey, the SWS said.
The Vice President recorded a “good” net trust rating in urban areas at 42 percent, up by 11 points from 31 percent she got in the September 2017 survey, the polling body added.
‘Laylayan’ gives ‘very good’ score
Moreover, Robredo obtained “very good” net trust ratings among Classes D and E with 53 percent and 52 percent, respectively. The Vice President has fondly called as “laylayan” those people belonging in the society’s Classes D and E.
Robredo, meanwhile, posted “good” net trust rating among Classes A, B, and C at 32 percent.
The SWS survey likewise showed that Robredo is enjoying “very good” trust ratings among high school graduates (51 percent) and elementary graduates (52 percent); and “good” trust ratings among college graduates (43 percent).
Robredo’s trust ratings also performed “very good among 45-54 year olds (56 percent) and 55 year olds and above (60 percent), while she received “good” ratings among 35-44 year olds (47 percent), 25-34 year olds (49 percent), and 18-24 year olds (42 percent), the SWS noted.
The SWS Fourth Quarter 2017 surveys were conducted using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide, with 300 each in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
It has a margin of error of ±3% nationwide, ±4% for Luzon, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao, the SWS said. /kga
