The Office of the Solicitor General, through Calida in December 2016, asked the SEC to investigate Rappler and Rappler Holdings Corporation for possible violation of the constitutional provision on foreign ownership.

Calida said “Rappler is free to seek redress before our courts.”

“The OSG is ready to defend the sound decision of the SEC in any forum,” he added.
