The Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) had its third strike on its more than 400 commuters Monday afternoon after it suffered an “electrical failure” in Quezon City

An MRT-3 report showed that a train offloaded its 450 commuters at 2:59 pm after it experienced an electrical failure in their air conditioning at the northbound section of GMA-Kamuning station.

The service disruption was caused by “defective or worn out electrical sub-components” like transformers, relays, breakers, and contractors, the report said.

Affected passengers then rode on a different train 13 minutes later.

The MRT-3 earlier suffered two glitches during the Monday rush hours caused by “electrical failure” at 5:09 a.m. and “signaling error” at 6:41 a.m. /je
