Bomb threat disrupts Olongapo City Hall operations

A bomb threat sent through a text message has disrupted government work in Olongapo City Hall Friday morning. Police bomb squad was immediately sent to the building for inspection. (Contributed photos)

OLONGAPO CITY—A text message warning of a bomb planted inside the city hall disrupted government work on Friday morning.

City Administrator Mamerto Malabute said he received the text message at 7:56 a.m. from an unknown sender.

“The text message was simple. It said a bomb was placed inside the city hall. There were no other details,” Malabute told the Inquirer.

The official said he immediately alerted policemen who deployed a bomb disposal team.

Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino also directed all city hall employees to evacuate and allow the police bomb squad to inspect the building.
