The man who accidentally shot his partner, who was among the fatalities in the subsequent “mistaken identity” incident with Mandaluyong City policemen, would be slapped with homicide charges on Thursday.
Eliseo Aluad Jr., alias Bobot, would be facing criminal liabilities after the investigation of the Special Investigation Task Group-Shaw (SITG-Shaw) showed that he was the one who accidentally shot her live-in partner, Jonalyn Amba-an, during an altercation with two men.
Quoting SITG-Shaw Chief Sr. Supt. Florendo Quibuyen, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported that the armed Aluad was in a heated argument with Salam Abdul Majid and Abdrurakman Alfin when Amba-an suddenly intervened.
Amba-an tried to stop Aluad but the latter accidentally fired the gun and hit Amba-an’s head, the radio report added.
Quibuyen said the criminal case against Aluad was based on the report of the Scene of the Crime Operatives, Amba-an’s autopsy report, and the statement of witness.
Citing the report of the police’ crime laboratory, Quibuyen noted the “tattooing mark” on Amba-an’s cheek, which indicated that the victim was shot at close range.
Amba-an was among the individuals aboard the van that was supposed to take her to the hospital but was waylaid after responding policemen and village watchmen peppered it with bullets, mistaking it as the getaway vehicle of alleged suspects, in Mandaluyong City last December 28, 2017. /kga
