2 killed in motorcycle crashes in Nueva Vizcaya
BAYOMBONG, NUEVA VIZCAYA—Two motorcycle riders were killed in two separate accidents along the national highway here and in Bambang town on Tuesday (Jan. 9) and early Wednesday (Jan. 10).
College student Weinright Tanoma, 25, was killed when his motorcycle caught fire after crashing into a tricycle in Bonfal East village shortly after midnight on Wednesday, said Chief Insp. Romeo Barnachea, Bayombong police chief.
Tanoma encroached into the opposite lane as he passed an unfinished bridge construction site, and collided head-on with the tricycle at 12:25 a.m.
The crash injured tricycle driver Ferma Flores, 20, who was rushed to the Veterans Regional Hospital.
In Bambang, Jordan Bugtong, 24, was killed when he and a companion drove off the highway and crashed into a ricefield in Barangay (village) Indiana on Tuesday afternoon.
Article continues after this advertisementBugtong was riding at the back of the motorcycle driven by Judimar Benito, who, according to witness accounts, was driving fast when he lost control of the vehicle.
Bugtong was killed instantly from a blow to the head, police said. Both riders were not wearing protective helmets. Melvin Gascon INQ
