DAVAO CITY-A 26-year-old employee of the Davao del Norte Electric Coop. (Daneco) was killed while three others were injured when a tricycle they were riding in slammed into a passenger bus in Montevista, Compostela Valley on Tuesday, the police said Wednesday.
Vina Taping, 26, succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to a local hospital, according to Senior Supt. Marvin Pepino, the Compostela Valley police chief.
Pepino said three other people on the ill-fated tricycle were injured.
He said based on investigation, tricycle driver Jimmy Conde, suddenly shifted lanes while traversing the highway in Barangay San Jose and hit a Metro Shuttle bus bound for Butuan City.
Taping, Conde, and two other tricycle passengers were injured and were rushed to a hospital. But the 26-year-old Daneco employee did not make it.
Pepino said 39-year-old bus driver Rolly Enguito was in police custody for further investigation and possible filing of charges. Frinston Lim INQ
