About 900 passengers of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) were asked to vacate one of its trains in Mandaluyong City after it suffered a mechanical hiccup on Tuesday.

An MRT-3 report showed that the train experienced a “door failure” around 8:19 a.m. at the southbound section of the Shaw Boulevard Station.

The service disruption was caused by “leaning on the door or forcing it to open,” the report said.

Affected passengers were then loaded three minutes after in a different train.      /kga
