THE annual Central Command (Centcom) sportsfest competition successfully opened last week.
Around 300 officers and enlisted personnel including civilian employees from the organic and post units participated in the opening, with Centcom challenge multi-event relay as one of the highlights.
Lt. Gen. Ralph Villanueva, commanding general of Centcom, stressed the event was necessary to help build camaraderie and maintain physical endurance among the participants.
Five teams are competing in various athletic events like badminton, volleyball, soccer, table tennis, lawn tennis, billiard and softball.
A civilian team from barangay Apas in Cebu City, where the camp is located, will also participate in the basketball game.
All games will be played in single round robin.
