Village chief, son, aide dead in Batangas ambush
BATANGAS CITY—The Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) president, his son and bodyguard were killed in an ambush on a national road in the village of San Miguel, Bauan town in Batangas yesterday.
Supt. Alfredo Dangani, Bauan police chief, said an undetermined number of gunmen attacked Henry Adora, 45, ABC head in Bauan; his son Hanzel Adora, 21, and bodyguard Armando Ladignon, 50, past 3 a.m. as they rode in a Pajero.
The gunmen were aboard a green L-300 van with license plate UJK-711.
Police said Henry and Ladignon suffered multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot while the wounded Hanzel was brought to Bauan Doctors Hospital where he died.
Dangani said the victims had just left a cockpit arena in Bauan when ambushed. He said it was possible the gunmen tailed them after they left the cockpit arena.
Police said an M-16 assault rifle may have been used in the attack. Police found shells of M-16 bullets in the scene of the crime.
