Woman killed at home in Mt. Province, 16-year-old boy shot in Abra
BAGUIO CITY — Gunmen killed a woman and shot a teenage boy in separate violent attacks on Saturday in Mountain Province and Abra province, according to a belated police report.
Marcelita Luppit, 46, was watching television with her family at 7:30 p.m. when a man broke into their house in Paracelis town, Mt. Province, and shot her in the head.
The alleged gunman, Pablo Balanao Jr., had a heated argument with Luppit earlier, and is the subject of a manhunt. Luppit died on the way to the Paracelis District Hospital.
Meanwhile, at 7 p.m. in La Paz town in Abra, 16-year-old Erol Eiden Valera was shot in his back in front of his home at Sitio Alimudong, Canan village.
He was with his 19-year-old cousin, John Conrad Valera, when he was attacked from afar with a 12-gauge shotgun. Valera is being treated at a hospital in capital town Bangued. The police has yet to determine why the boy was shot. /je
