Two men were killed while a female student was wounded after they were attacked while in a van by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Navotas City on Friday night.
Police identified the victims as John Naval, 38, and Allister San Pedro, 28, who died after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
Princess Galang, 18, remained under observation in the hospital as of Saturday after being shot once in the head.
According to a report reaching the Northern Police District director, Chief Supt. Amando Clifton Empiso, the three were in their Mitsubishi Adventure van parked on Daanghari Street, Barangay Daanghari, around 9 p.m. when two motorcycle-riding men approached and fired at the vehicle.
Naval died on the spot while San Pedro was declared dead on arrival at Navotas City Hospital.
Police said recovered from the vehicle were at least 26 bullet casings of still unknown caliber, a 9-mm Cherokee pistol believed to be owned by one of the victims, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the attack, or if it was “drug-related”, said PO1 Philbert Madio, the officer on the case.—KRIXIA SUBINGSUBING
