The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) on Thursday denied reports posted on several news blogs that a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight attendant was caught on Tuesday night with “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P1.6 million concealed in her underwear.
“In response to a recent supposed news post of an alleged arrest of a PAL flight attendant…the Caap denies this apparent fake news,” spokesperson Eric Apolonio said in a statement.
PAL spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna described the stories as “fake news,” adding that the company has sought the assistance of the police and the National Bureau of Investigation “in ensuring that two bogus posts on two blogspots are taken down immediately.”
“PAL is poised to take legal action against the blogging sites for posting a picture of a PAL cabin crew member in her uniform with a fictitious story entitled, ‘PAL FA arrested for PHP1.6M worth of meth,’” Villaluna said in a statement. —JEROME ANING
