The Manila City government has ordered a liquor ban from January 8 to 10 for the upcoming Traslacion of the annual Feast of the Black Nazarene, according to the city’s public information office (PIO).

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada signed an executive order for authorities to enforce a liquor ban to prevent any untoward incident during the procession, Bambi Purisima of the Manila PIO said on Thursday.

In an advisory, Purisima said the ban would start on January 8 at 6:00 p.m. and end on January 10 at 6:00 a.m.

On January 9, Traslacion 2018 is expected to kick off at Luneta Grandstand at 6 a.m. /je
