DAVAO CITY—Mayor Sara Duterte on Thursday warned her father’s political enemies not to bother her because she might just decide to run for a senate post if they would annoy her.

Sara issued the statement amid survey results showing her name as a potential senatorial candidate for 2019.

“PRD’s (President Duterte) enemies should not annoy me then my slot should become available to all the yellows,” Sara said.

But Sara dismissed her inclusion in the lists, saying “(i)t is not new to me.”

“My name was also on the senator survey list in 2012. Thank you to those who gave their support,” the presidential daughter said.

“If Davao is strong, then that is the Dabawenyos patriotism at work,” Sara said.

She said beyond the inclusion of her name in the senatorial surveys, being a responsible Davao resident was her contribution to the country. “I still believe that being a responsible Dabawenyo, whether in public office or as a practicing lawyer, is my contribution to nation building.”
