DAVAO CITY – Barely dry from the rain dumped by two storms in December and on New Year’s Day, several places in Mindanao again woke up to a heavy downpour on Thursday.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury as the rain, which started at about 5 a.m., continued up to this posting.

Heavy rain was reported in Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte, which were affected by Tropical Storm Vinta on Dec. 22 and Tropical Depression Agaton on January 1; and Davao del Sur.

Earlier, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned about rain in Mindanao from Wednesday to Thursday due to the tail-end of a cold front. /cbb
