STO. DOMINGO, Albay – The local government has suspended classes in all levels here starting Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3, 2018, as non-stop rain since Monday threatens to cause flooding and landslides in some villages.

Mayor Herbie Aquas said students from low-lying villages were particularly at risk. He identified these as Barangays Buhatan, Alimsog, San Isidro, Lidong, San Antonio, and Salvacion

“We advised the barangay disater officials to be on full alert for possible landslides particularly on the slopes of Mt. Mayon,” he said.

He said evacuation centers had already been set up should they be needed. /cbb
