A faulty speedometer forced a southbound Metro Rail Transit (MRT) train on Tuesday evening to offload about 300 passengers at the North Avenue Station on Edsa, according to a service report.
The glitch, reported at 8:43 p.m., was caused by a fluctuating power supply due to worn out electrical sub-components, the report said.
The defective train was brought in to the depot for preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components.
Offloaded passengers were accommodated by a skip train that arrived 8 minutes after the incident.
This is the second glitch of the transit line this 2018.
Just a day before, New Year’s Day, about 300 southbound commuters were offloaded at the Guadalupe Station due to an “electrical failure.” /atm
