Man buying diapers shot dead in QC

A man who was buying diapers at a store in Novaliches in Quezon City was shot dead by two unidentified men on motorbike on Tuesday morning.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as construction worker Raymar Garais, 39.

Garais was shot dead around 1 a.m. on Geronimo Street in Barangay Sta. Monica by two men wearing black jackets, according to a report submitted to Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, QCPD director.

A witness said she heard two gunshots before seeing the bloodied body of Garais on the pavement.

The construction worker, who had two gunshot wounds in the head, was taken to the Novaliches District, where he died.

PO1 Reydan Neron and seven members of the QCPD Tactical Motorcycle Riders arrived later at the scene of the crime to secure the area.

During the investigation, another witness said she saw the suspects fleeing toward Sarmiento Street on a motorbike without license a plate.

Barangay Sta. Monica security officer Della Mandrano told probers all the closed-circuit television footage installed at the barangay were defective.

Police recovered recovered two shells at the scene of the crime – one from .45-caliber pistol and another from 9-mm pistol. /atm
