50 houses razed in New Year fire in Davao
DAVAO CITY – The New Year revelry here was marred by a fire that gutted around 50 houses in Agdao district.
The fire of still undetermined origin hit houses made of light materials in Barangay Wilfredo Aquino around 12:30 a.m. while those affected were celebrating the New Year.
In an initial report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said the fire on Marang Street quickly spread and gutted every structure in its path.
No casualty has been reported so far but a number of families and individuals renting spaces in some of the gutted houses have been displaced.
The BFP said it was still investigating the cause of the fire. /cbb
