LP vows to ‘fight lies with truth and justice’
The Liberal Party said on Sunday that its members will fight for the nation’s soul with their weapons–truth and justice–against “lies” that will be promoted in the year 2018.
In a statement, it cited three events that for the then ruling party defined 2017 and the lies binding them.
The LP mentioned Senator Leila de Lima’s arrest on “made-up” charges, martial law declaration in Mindanao, the killing of three youngsters amid the drug war.
The party said these events were bound by lies, including the “manufactured evidence” in De Lima’s cases, the “invented bases” for the declaration of martial law, and for the killing of Kian delos Santos, Carl Angelo Arnaiz, Kulot de Guzman, the “discredited idea that crime can be solved by deadly shortcuts.”
“How will the lies be promoted in 2018? By circumventing, if not actually violating, the country’s fundamental law through Cha-cha or federalism or martial law so that some politicians can try to rule longer than allowed and that we the people won’t be allowed to choose our leaders,” the LP said.
