KORONADAL CITY–At least 18 people were injured by firecrackers in Central Mindanao as of Sunday, the regional health office based here reported.

Most of the injured were children, according to Jenny Ventura, the focal person of the Department of Health 12’s “Iwas Paputok” program.

Ventura said South Cotabato had the highest number of firecracker-related injuries as of Sunday, based on monitoring that started on Dec. 21. /jpv
