The President’s eldest son on Christmas Day announced his resignation as Davao City vice mayor after a public spat on social media with Isabelle Duterte, his daughter from what he called a “failed” first marriage.

The furor over her controversial photo shoot in Malacañang has barely died down when she tweeted about his father allegedly hurting a young person.

He responded on his official Facebook account with a revealing message: “It’s not that if you have been pimped twice by that person, I will keep my silence.”

He’s a father after all, he said.

In another post, Isabelle also ranted that her father “fucks up” her Christmas every year.

His father challenged her to change her family name if she wanted to.

The vice mayor, who had been linked to the smuggling of P6.4-billion “shabu” (crystal meth) from China, said he was quitting to protect his honor, and that of his children.

His father advised him to “do what is right.”
