‘Electrical failure’ spoils free MRT-3 ride of 200 commuters

A Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) train offloaded its passengers during Saturday’s morning rush hour.

According to an MRT-3 advisory, it offloaded 200 train riders at the Magallanes station at 6:07 a.m. due to an “electrical failure.”

The electrical problem was caused by “worn out electrical sub-components,” the report said.

Affected commuters boarded another train seven minutes later.

The MRT-3 offered free rides on Saturday from 7 a.m to 9 a.m, and from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. as part of the celebration of Rizal Day. /cbb
