Village chairman, bodyguard killed in Batangas ambush; daughter hurt

BATANGAS CITY, Philippines — The president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in Bauan, Batangas and his personal security guard died while his daughter was wounded in an ambush while traveling along the national road in Bauan, Thursday early morning, police said.

Superintendent Nicolas Torre, Batangas police information officer, said that at around 3:20 a.m., the victims Henry Adora, ABC president; his bodyguard, Armando Ladignon; and his daughter, Hanzel Adora, were on board a Pajero vehicle traveling along the village of San Miguel when the gunmen attacked.

Torre said the attackers were on board a green L300 van bearing the license plate UJK-711.

Henry Adora and Ladignon were dead on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.

Hanzel was brought to the Bauan Doctors Hospital in Bauan town for treatment.
