In celebration of the New Year, the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) will be giving free rides to commuters during the peak hours of January 1, 2018.

Free rides will be from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to an advisory of the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Friday.

During these hours, “tap and go” turnstiles would not charge stored value cards (SVC). Meanwhile, commuters with no SVCs may get single journey tickets for free from station tellers.
