Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) conducting security checks at the Ceres Bus Terminal  on New York Street in Cubao seized a box of guns on Friday.

QCPD Director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said they took into custody Felix Alcarde who claimed that he was taking the guns to a branch of Onerca Security and Investigation Agency in Iloilo City.

The police said the agency did not have a permit to transport the firearms which consisted of three shotguns and three revolvers.

Eleazar said the police were conducting “Oplan Sita” at the bus station when an employee informed them that someone was carrying a box of guns.

The police official said they would determine if the firearms have licenses. If not, Alcarde would be facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Radyo Inquirer tried to interview the suspect but declined. /cbb / Jong Manlapaz/Radyo Inquirer
