Navotas designates firecracker zones for New Year’s Eve

The Navotas City government has designated selected areas where revelers can use legal firecrackers and fireworks during the New Year celebration.

In an advisory on Thursday, Mayor John Rey Tiangco said fireworks and pyrotechnic exhibitions can be held at the Navotas City Amphitheatre, provided that organizers would comply with the Fire Code.

Tiangco added that firecracker zones have been designated in 14 barangays:

Brgy. San Rafael Village
-Gen. Vicente Lim Street

Brgy. North Bay Blvd. North
-Green Zone in R-10 Road and J. Lacson Street

Brgy. North Bay Blvd. South
-R-10 Proper and Kanduli Street

Brgy. Bangkulasi
-Reyes Street

Brgy. Bagumbayan South
-Taganahan Tabing Ilog

Brgy. Bagumbayan North
-Centennial Park

Brgy. Navotas East
-The foot of Estrella Bridge

Brgy. Navotas West
-Davila Street

Brgy. Sipac-Almacen
-Gov. A. Pascual and A. Santiago Streets

Brgy. Tanza
-Navigational Gate

Brgy. Tangos
-Bagong Kalsada and A. Cruz Streets

Brgy. San Roque
-Judge A. Roldan Streets

Brgy. Daanghari
-Ignacio Street, Bacog

Brgy. San Jose
-Gov. A. Pascual Street

“We remind everyone to follow our laws on the use of firecrackers and fireworks display,” Tiangco said in a statement.

“Let us work as one in safeguarding all the members of our community and ensure that all Navoteño families can welcome the New Year whole and happy,” he said.

Navotas had established firecrackers and fireworks zones through Executive Order 012 series of 2015, Tiangco said. /jpv
