“Tinawag agad ng complainant ang security chief at kinausap ang suspek (Nikka), pinainspect niya. Pumayag pa ang suspect, mayabang pa, pinakita ang drawer,” Besa said.

[The complainant called the security chief to talk to the suspect. He had her room inspected, which the helper obliged. She even showed the contents of her drawer.]

“Nung binuksan ang drawer, nakita lahat ng nawawalang items,” the police officer said, adding that some of the stolen objects were pens, clothes and jewelries.

[When they opened the drawer, all of the missing valuables items were found inside.]

The police were also on the hunt for Nikka’s boyfriend, Alvin Rivera of Maysan, Valenzuela City, Besa said, adding that Alvin helped Nikka sell the stolen goods.

“Yung mga kumukuha ng katulong, siguraduhin natin na mapagkakatiwalaan ang mga kinukuha. Lalo sila ang naiiwan sa bahay,” he said.

[Those who employ household helpers, better make sure you trust them before hiring them. Especially if you leave them alone inside your house.]

Besa also warned the public to be careful when purchasing products online. –With a report from Jong Manlapaz/Radyo Inquirer
