US Embassy in PH closed on Monday, January 1

The United States Embassy in Manila has announced that it will be closed on January 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

“The Embassy of the United States in the Philippines and affiliated offices will be closed to the public on Monday, January 1, in observance of New Year’s Day,” according to its advisory issued on Thursday.

“The Embassy and affiliated offices will resume services on Tuesday, January 2,” it said.

Malacañang proclaimed January 1 as a regular holiday in celebration of the New Year.

It also suspended government work on January 2 “in order to give the employees of the government full opportunity to celebrate holidays with their families and loved ones.”
