Retired SC Associate Justice Justo Torres Jr. dies at 90

Retired Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Justo P. Torres Jr. has died at the age of 90, according to the SC Public Information Office (PIO).

Torres was appointed by former president Fidel Ramos to the High Court on March 11, 1996. He retired on November 1, 1997 after reaching the retirement age of 70.

Prior to his appointment to the SC, Torres served as an Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals.

He also served as Philippine Judicial Academy Vice Chancellor after retiring as High Court magistrate, according to the SC PIO.
