Duterte won’t stop son Paolo’s resignation
President Rodrigo Duterte said on Monday night that he would not stop his son Paolo from resigning as Davao City vice mayor.
“You are in a position to do what is right. Kung ano lang ang tama sa iyo, gawin mo,” Duterte recalled telling his son Paolo during an interview at the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City.
“I never suggested any resignation,” he added.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio had earlier said the President knew beforehand about Paolo’s resignation.
Duterte said Paolo might have been fed up with the issues hurled against him.
“Siguro ‘yung sa anak niya, ‘yung pictorial. Baka nasaktan din siya noong ‘yung mga insinuation about ‘yung sa… Napuno na siguro. Pinatawag sila sa Congress for nothing,” he said.
