Rizal cop arrested for indiscriminate firing

A Rizal policeman was arrested for indiscriminate firing in Pasig City on Sunday afternoon.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the policeman as Police Officer (PO) 1 Arnold Sabillo, of the Rodriguez Police Station.

According to the Pasig City police, a team led by Sr. Insp. Diogenes Gaoaen, of the city’s Police Community Precinct 7, was patrolling in Brgy. Mangahan around 1 p.m. Sunday when they received reports about  a policeman firing shots along Rodriguez Street in Brgy. Santolan.

The police, responding to the report, found the drunk Sabillo on Sgt. De Leon Street still holding his gun.

The EPD said Sabillo surrendered and yielded his service firearm loaded with 11 bullets.

The police are still checking if stray bullets hit anyone in the area.

Sabillo could face dismissal from service for breaking the orders of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronaldo dela Rosa, who earlier issued a stern warning against indiscriminate firing during the holidays.             /kga
