Trough of ‘Vinta’ to bring overcast skies, rain over Palawan – Pagasa

The state weather agency says Palawan would still experience moderate to heavy rains on Christmas Day as the trough of typhoon “Vinta” would bring cloudy skies ad scattered rains and thunderstorms in the province even as it has already left the Philippine area of responsibility on Christmas Eve. Even as typhoon “Vinta” has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), Palawan would continue to experience moderate to heavy rain this Christmas Day.

This is because the trough of the typhoon would bring cloudy skies and scattered rain and thunderstorms over Palawan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.

The state weather bureau also said that a tail-end of a cold front in Cagayan Valley Region would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms while the Bicol Region, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon would likewise experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to easterlies or winds blowing from the east.

Meanwhile, the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, and rest of Central Luzon would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the northeast monsoon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms would be experienced in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, according to Pagasa.             /kga
