Typhoon ‘Vinta’ exits PAR – Pagasa

After devastating most parts of Mindanao, typhoon “Vinta” has finally left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) midday Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The typhoon was last seen 290 kilometers south of Pagasa Island, according to state weather agency.

But scattered to widespread moderate to occasionally heavy rains would continue over Palawan, especially over the southern section, despite the exit of Vinta.

Pagasa also maintained its warning of risky sea travel over the western seaboard of Palawan.

As of Saturday evening, deaths from floods and landslides caused by Vinta have reached 200.                        /kga
