3 hurt in Pasay City shooting

Three people – a barangay councilor, a city hall employee, and a director of a funeral home – were injured after unknown gunmen shot them while in a drinking spree two days before Christmas Day.

A Southern Police District report on Sunday identified the victims as Denni Gatchalian, 52, councilor of barangay 118 in Pasay City; Joselito Ocampo, 56, head of the Pasay City Environment Natural Office (PCENRO); and Tristan Ocampo, 34, director of Veronica funeral homes.

Authorities said that at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, while having a drinking spree at Tramo St., Barangay 113 in Pasay City, unidentified assailants appeared and shot the victims several times.

The gunmen immediately fled after the incident.

The victims were rushed to the San Juan De Dios hospital for medical treatment. Gatchalian and Tristan Ocampo are now stable, while Joselito Ocampo would still have to undergo an operation.

Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the incident, as further investigation is underway.                         /kga
