Just two days before Christmas, a Metro Rail Transit (MRT) train acted up again, offloading 800 passengers at Guadalupe Station.
In a service report, an MRT northbound train suffered an electrical failure in its motor at 7:41 p.m. on Saturday.
The failure was caused by worn out electrical sub-components, the MRT management said.
The train was then delivered back to the depot for preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components, they said.
The transit line deployed a skip train to accommodate disembarked passengers three minutes after the incident.
This is the second time the MRT suffered an electrical failure on Saturday.
A southbound train offloaded close to 500 passengers at 5:50 a.m. due to the same glitch, which was also caused by worn out electrical sub-components, according to the MRT management.
