Stream’s top player bags ROY-MVP award
WITH an able coach and a prolific player, it is no surprise that the Stream Blue Devils advanced to the finals of the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball.
Stream’s explosive player Sylvester Millevo achieved a milestone as he became the first player in league history to be named Rookie of the Year (ROY) while also winning the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Stream’s head coach Armand Colina also took home the Coach of the Year award, typifying the team’s dominant run this season.
The Blue Devils were brilliant all-season long, advancing to the playoffs as the number one seed and eliminating defending champions Teletech Titans in their best-of-three semifinal series, 2-1.
Stream will play the Lexmark Stallions in the best-of-three finals which will start on Nov. 19 at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym. The Stallions made the championship round by overhauling a 0-1 series deficit to stun the multi-titled Convergys Wolves.
It’s the first time in years that there will be no Convergys or Teletech playing in the finals.
